I was starting to feel like maybe i was being immature about this scene but the scene with eddie (and king’s preoccupation with writing female characters a certain way) just solidifies my opinion that it was all so unnecessary. A lot of people have been discussing the parallels of this season including the similarities about how homelander and soldier boy perceive love and how much of a sociopaths they both are but the one parallel i don't see discussed that i noticed myself is the parallel between someone like ashley and who came. With bev it's like her dad is too into her sexual purity and bordeline sexually abusive, and there's the sex scenes with tom, and the sex with bill, and the group sex, and at least three of the boys crush on her, and her fear is related to sexual maturity, and she thinks about random mens dicks on the plane, and her body/nipples and clothes are.
